James is survived by his siblings, Terri L. Guarino and her husband John, Jeffrey M. Scaccio and his wife Andra, Robert C. Scaccio and his wife Susanne and Christopher Goyette. He was the proud and loving uncle to John A. Guarino Jr., Nicholas M. Larry is survived by his wife Jeanette, his sons, Larry Jr. and Robert and his wife Rita, his step-daughter Katherine and step-son Ernesto. George was one of 7 children, three brothers and three sisters and sister Jane Denk of Parma, Ohio . Joseph A. Kopac, 83, of Blauvelt, passed away peacefully on May 30, 2015 at the Tolstoy Foundation Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Valley Cottage. Joseph, a lifelong resident of Rockland County, was born in Piermont on September 21, 1931 to Peter and Jozefina Kopac.

For over 30 years, James was employed by MABSTOA, a division of the MTA, retiring as a superintendent. He was formerly of the Bronx and resided in Pearl River for 32 years. James was an usher at the Sunday evening Masses at St. Aeden’s Church in Pearl River and a member of the Pearl River Elks Lodge. George loved and cherished his family, treasured his friends, and loved chocolate, maps and flying. At special times he often said, “This is what it’s all about”.

He was a graduate of Christopher Columbus High School. He was a talented athlete and was accepted to play on the farm league baseball teams for the NY Yankees and NY Giants. Bill was an Army veteran and served two years during the Korean Conflict.

Eileen was predeceased by her brothers and sisters, and her husband, William. She is survived by her sons Allan of Tappan and Kevin his wife, Ruth, and daughter, Eileen, of Grandview. She will be remembered as a wonderful, caring mother full of life and Christian charity. She was born in Paterson, NJ on December 18, 1917, but lived in Italy most of her life where her three children were born. She is survived by her children, Lola Esnard of Piermont, NY, Angelo Costa of NH, and Letitia Costa of Fla.
Frank Thomas Lanzana, 82, of Norwood, NJ passed away surrounded by his family on Tuesday, November 18th. Frank was a lifelong resident of Norwood, living with his wife and family in the house he designed and built 53 years ago. He was a 1949 graduate of Tenafly High School and served in the US Army during the Korean War.

Pauline is predeceased by her brothers, Thomas, John, Stephen, William and Peter Kopac; and her sisters, Anne Ventriglia, and Jean Culleto. Mary Neusch (nee O’Connell), 74, of Closter passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 31st,2014. Mary was born in West Orange, NJ in 1940 and grew up in Kearny, NJ. Mary graduated Queen of Peace High School in 1958 and St. Mary’s Nursing School of West Orange in 1961. Mary was an active member and volunteer for St. Mary’s Church in Closter and served on the Closter Board of Health for several years. Lillian McGee, a longtime resident of Tappan, passed away peacefully at home on January 5, 2015.

August Nothdurft, a resident of Norwood for 53 years, passed away October 9, 2014. Visiting hours were at the Moritz Funeral Home in Closter. A Funeral Service was held at the Moritz Funeral Home. Donations to the Norwood American Legion, 480 Broadway, Norwood, NJ 07648.

Sue was raised in Hoboken and later moved to Carlstadt NJ where she graduated from Becton Regional High School. She went on to complete Bergen Pines Nursing Program and later received her BSN from Dominican College. She worked as a nurse in many different capacities at Passaic General Hospital and Nyack Hospital. She also had been an adjunct professor at Rockland Community College.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Cynthia (née Arce); his sons, Nelson, William and Peter; his grandson Armando; and many nieces and nephews. William was predeceased by three sisters and a brother. Ruth F. Murphy, 85, of Harrington Park, NJ. Passed away on February 1, 2015. Ruth was born in Jersey City, NJ on July 23, 1929 to Edward and Ruth Martin, an American family, for hundreds of years.

He was a proud member of the Closter Elks, VFW, American Legion Post 111, and the Closter Volunteer Fire Department and the Closter Volunteer Ambulance Corp. He was part owner with his brothers of the Taaz Bowling Lane & Bar in Closter. Funeral Mass, Friday, 11am at St. Mary's RC Church in Closter. Visiting hours were held at the Moritz Funeral Home in Closter. Elizabeth "Betti" Saunders, of Cresskill, formerly of Closter November 11, 2009, Bettie was an out patient account manager at Englewood Hospital. Devoted mother of Debra Stalter, Beth Saunders Leek, Norman III and the late Mark.
Edna was grateful for the help her father’s company, Bell Telephone gave her after he died. Living on her own in New York City as the Great Depression fell on the country Edna became a hairdresser. Her shop’s specialty was coiffing the rich and famous. Edna and her husband Melville Walsh bought a home in Northvale that same year. When her husband, Mel, passed away in 1970 Edna resumed her hair dressing profession in a salon in Pearl River. She worked there until the shop closed in the year 2000.

They lived in Parkchester in the Bronx and later moved to Spring Lake Heights, NJ. They retired to Thorpe Village in Sparkill, NY. The family received relatives and friends at the Moritz Funeral Home in Closter. A Funeral Service was celebrated Elizabeth’s life on October 20th at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church in Closter.

He is also survived by his eight grandchildren, Melissa, Matthew, Jessica, Rebecca, Faith, Alex, Anastasia, and John. Theodora ‘Dora’ Spagna (née Bottari) of River Vale, NJ, passed away surrounded by her loving family on April 26, 2015. Born in Staten Island, NY on July 8, 1922, she was the beloved daughter of Joseph and Aurora Bottari. Dora graduated high school from St. John Villa Academy on Staten Island. In 1946, Dora married Charles A. Spagna Sr. and together they raised six children in the Bronx and Blauvelt, NY. In later years Dora also lived in Nyack, NY.
